The eyes are the window to your soul. They are also one of the most prominent features on your face. Big, beautiful eyes and thick eyelashes are desired by many women. In fact, having long, black eyelashes can enhance your eyes and make them look absolutely beautiful. This is precisely why a great deal of women end up buying several products that are designed to make the eyelashes look long and thick. Unfortunately, many of these are only temporary solutions.

But, what if there was a way to actually grow your eyelashes? Well thankfully, there is now an answer. And that is through the use of Latisse.

What is Latisse?

Essentially, Latisse is an FDA-approved treatment that is used by people who have eyelashes that are thinning or inadequate. Latisse is a solution that contains a component known as bimatoprost. It is used in medicines that are used to treat glaucoma – but it has also been found to be effective in growing eyelashes.

Before using Latisse, it is important to get an allergy test to see whether you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the Latisse solution.

How Is Latisse Used?

Latisse is available only by prescription, although you can apply it on your own. Before you proceed with using Latisse, the first step is to ensure that your face is absolutely clean. Wash your face thoroughly and get rid of any traces of makeup before applying the solution.

Latisse comes with an applicator. To apply Latisse, hold the applicator horizontally and place a single drop of the Latisse solution near the tip of the applicator. Remember to take only a single drop and you should apply it near the tip and not on the tip.

Now, very carefully, apply the tip slowly, from the inner corner of your eyes to the outer corner. Make sure that you apply it only along the lash line and be very careful. The solution should not get into your eyes as it can cause irritation. Once you finish applying the solution, carefully blot out any excess solution using a tissue. Remember not to rub your eyes.

You should one applicator per eye to prevent infection. Use a new applicator when applying the solution to the next eye and dispose of them immediately after use.

While applying, remember not to touch your eye or the tip to prevent contamination of the applicator. Always wash your hands and dry them before you start with the application of Latisse. Also, if you happen to be using contact lenses, they need to be removed before the treatment.

What to Expect After A Latisse Treatment

Latisse treatments should be applied every day on the upper eyelid for at least four months. It should only be used right before you go to bed and should not be applied on the lower eyelids. In order to get excellent results, you need to be consistent with your application.
