Before undergoing your rhytidectomy, it’s a good idea to do some research and speak with double-board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Jen Chow to gain a firm understanding of what to expect during the procedure and in the days/weeks that follow. The post-operative phase of the surgery is known as the rhytidectomy healing period.

During your rhytidectomy healing, you will need to set aside at least a week or two, depending on the advice of your doctor, for rest and relaxation while the body heals. This means no working or strenuous activities during that time.

In the first few days following surgery is when you are the most helpless. Arrange to have someone there to help out and support you while you recover from the medication and swelling.
