  1. What are Juvederm®, Restylane, and Perlane®?
    These are gel fillers used to restore or create volume in the face that can instantly smooth away wrinkles in the face. They are comprised of hyaluronic acid, which normally also naturally occurs in the skin.
  2. Where are Juvederm®, Restylane, and Perlane® used?
    The most common sites for treatment include the naso-labial folds (smile lines), the marionette lines, and vertical wrinkles. At the Chow Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, nasal enhancement is also frequently performed with these fillers.
  3. How long before I will see results?
    You will see results immediately after treatment, before you leave the office! You can even look in the mirror after one side of your face has been treated in order to compare and contrast the treated and untreated sides of your face.
  4. Are Juvederm®, Restylane, and Perlane® safe?
    Each of these is an FDA-approved filler for cosmetic use in the face. In addition, Juvederm® has been clinically proven to be safe and effective for different skin types, with no evidence of increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.
  5. What are the side effects of Juvederm®, Restylane, and Perlane®?
