For most of us, the appearance of aging in the face is caused by several major factors. Volume loss can create folds or shadows in the face. Your skin may have been damaged by sun and other environmental factors such as smoking, diet, and chemical exposure. Stress and the need to express ourselves can overwork certain muscles in the face, causing a permanent frown, crows feet, or any of a number of other fine lines and wrinkles. And gravity can take its toll in a variety of ways, pulling the face downwards and causing it to lose its shape.
Fortunately, there are now a variety of treatments to rejuvenate the face without surgery. One set of techniques is often called the Liquid Facelift, because there is no surgery, and a variety of different fillers and Botox can be used to improve your appearance. There is no single method or procedure for the liquid facelift. Dr. Chow will design a treatment plan based on your unique facial features and aesthetic goals. Before any treatment, you will have ample opportunity to discuss any and all of your cosmetic concerns with Dr. Chow personally in order to better ensure your ultimate satisfaction.
You can have the liquid facelift on your first visit with Dr. Jen Chow, after you have had your in-depth consultation and all of your questions have been answered. You can also explore additional options for facial rejuvenation at the Chow Center for Facial Plastic Surgery. Some patients choose to schedule a specific date for their liquid facelift to work around their busy schedules.
No specific regimen is required before your treatment. In general, to reduce your chances of bruising, foods, supplements, and vitamins that may thin the blood should be avoided. Aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve, and other over the counter non-steroidal inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) should be avoided as well. Many patients choose to take Arnica Montana, a supplement, up to five days before their procedure in order to reduce the likelihood of bruising.
You will be able to drive to and from your appointment without difficulty. You should expect to spend a full hour at the office if you are having the liquid facelift done, depending on which specific treatments you will be receiving.
