Nose Augmentation
Augmenting the bridge of the nose can bring both aesthetic and practical changes to one's lifestyle. Sometimes, when the bridge of the nose is too low, the eyes may appear too far apart and the central portion of the face too flat. In addition, wearing sunglasses or prescription lenses may be difficult or even impossible without an adequate nasal bridge to support them.
Fortunately, there are a number of solutions to this problem. In order to restore an attractive balance to the face, the bridge of the nose can be raised for a proportionate and appropriate nose. As each of us is unique in our ideas of beauty, digital imaging of how the nose might change is offered to facilitate communication so that you can fully express your interests and concerns to Dr. Chow. Although computer-generated images can only approximate results, essential ideas regarding bridge height and contouring can be described without the use of technical and confusing terms such as radix, rhinion, nasal dorsum, supratip crease, and other medical terms.
Multiple options are available for nasal augmentation. Minimally invasive techniques using dermal fillers such as Radiesse or Juvederm provide excellent results with almost no recovery time. These procedures can be done in the office quickly and safely. As dermal fillers provide up to a year of correction, they offer an opportunity to "try out" a new nose without surgery.

For those desiring a more permanent result, Dr. Chow has a number of techniques available for nasal augmentation. Most commonly, he prefers the use of Gore-tex or Gore-tex coated silicone implants for the nose. He can custom fit certain types of implants for each nose. In some cases, he may recommend the use of cartilage rather than a synthetic implant. Each individual is unique, and a visit with Dr. Chow can provide you with answers regarding your nose!
