Physician Applied Peels

Although many spas will offer peels, Dr. Chow applies solutions that must be administered by a physician for deeper penetration, resulting in longer lasting effects in the skin. Applying trichloroacetic acid in varying concentrations depending on each individual's skin type removes the top layers and allows smooth, regenerated skin to emerge.

These physician applied peels can be used alone or in combination with other skin resurfacing techniques. They are most effective on fine wrinkles resulting from sun damage, as well as superficial skin color changes such as age spots.

Chemical peels offered at the Chow Center for Facial Plastic Surgery include moderate TCA (trichloroacetic acid) and deep phenol peels. For TCA peels, certain areas of the face can be targeted, such as the fine lines around the eyes.
